Junior Team Tennis at KGTA
Team Tennis meshes the independence and determination of tennis with the communication and teamwork of team sports. Through our program, we develop a variety of important skills in our young players including:

About Team Tennis : SUMMER 2016

The USTA Junior Team Tennis program is a great way for junior players of all levels experience the thrill of competition with the support of a team environment. Each summer Kim Grant Tennis fields 4 teams that compete in the peninsula section of USTA Nor Cal’s Junior Team Tennis leagues. These teams travel to a number of racquet clubs and academies in the area for matches and are each entered into a different age division.
PRACTICES: Team practices will be held at 3pm - 5pm at the JLS courts each Friday (480 E. Meadow Dr, Palo Alto)
MATCH SCHEDULES:
Gender Neutral Divisions (All skill Levels)
** Meet at the Academy 1.5 hours before the match and we leave as a team in convoy or if you prefer to meet directly at the match location please email Coach Sean at seannewton29@gmail.com and meet at the match location 30mins before the match.

Each team has its own scoring format designed to maximize the number, and type of matches for each player and help each of them contribute to the success of the team as a whole (information on formats can be found on USTANORCAL.COM IN THE JUNIOR . Each year, we see the confidence and skill of each player improve tremendously from the JTT experience. Many of our High Performance started playing competitively on a KGTA team rather than individual tournaments.
Steps for signing up players for the team include:
1: Register for a USTA membership. Information can be found at http://membership.usta.com
2: Sign up by contacting Kim Grant Tennis academy emailing Seannewton29@gmail.com and Assistantdirector@KimGrantTennis.com to add your child to the team roster. At sign ups you will be asked to rsvp for each practice and match during the season.
$450 will be due at sign ups and will include registration fees, x hours of instruction, and team matches.
The summer season runs from June 13th-July 30th.
3: Attend practice and matches. Team practices will be held at 3pm - 5pm at the JLS courts each Friday and all players are expected to attend. During this time, players will learn how to be a contributing member of a team, as well as the competition formats, etiquette, strategy, and technique they will need to successfully compete.
Matches will be held on Wednesdays and Sundays. Team members meet at the academy up to an hour and a half before the scheduled match time in order to transport all players to the court locations. Matches last around 2 hours on average after which team members are transported back to the academy or released to their parents.
Spots on each roster are limited.

- (10 and Under) Orange Ball Division- FULL (no longer adding players)
- (12 and Under) Green Dot Ball Division- FULL (Played on a 78’ court with green balls)
- (12 and Under) Yellow Ball Division-AVAILABLE (Played on a 78’ court with yellow balls -- Coed Divisions (Intermediate)
- (14 and Under) Yellow Ball Division-AVAILABLE
